We're barely even 2 weeks into year 3 and I'm impossibly tired. Year 3 is hard to get used to because everything is own time own target. You know there's a set of skills you have to learn, a list of conditions that you must see and a few procedures that would be good to observe, but there's no one to guide you through it. I feel a bit like a lost sheep at times.

Orthopaedics is one of the supposedly slacker postings, and I'm glad for it because it gives us time to adapt and find our way around the system. It's tough though, and I can't begin to imagine how much tougher Paeds or Internal Med might be. There's so much to see and so much to learn. I've been through my first night call, clerked my first ortho patient and done a (no doubt haphazard) knee examination. Can't believe we're already year 3 and doing all of that. It's all an experience (:
