For all that I've been complaining about going to China because we've been going there the past two years, I still loved the trip.
西安, is just so beautiful. Not beautiful as in scenic, but it's so brimming-with-historical-value it's astonishing.
The terra-cottas, the countless of emperors' tombs that line the Wei river, the artefacts in usually-boring-museums, somemore minature terra-cottas from the Han Dynasty.
That's my dad's idea of a historical tour, and I must say although I was begrudging at first, I really enjoyed it.
And then we flew to 成都, Sichuan province.
People there talk very differently, talk as if they're singing a song, they say.
It's called 成都话, and when they talk fast, you would stare at them as if they were talking Arabian.
Someone actually told me 我跟你说话时感觉好迟钝 (:
oh oh and their food, it's famous for being 又辣又麻又烫, and their dishes are just entirely stuffed with chilli and unknown spices which taste really pepper-ish and make your tongue feel numb. UNLESS you're smart and ask them for 不辣, but then that isn't too good either because they taste too bland.
They have dishes, meat dishes, that are just roasting in beds of dried chilli. But chilli increases your metabolism rate (: , or so they say.
Food in China is in such ENORMOUS servings, we eat and eat and eat and eat.
And there goes my weeks of dancing (:
I watched movies in China :D
满城尽带黄金甲 and 墨攻. The cinemas in China are quite weird, or maybe it's just that cinema. We watched 满城尽带黄金甲 in 西安, and we got lost in the halls because someone gave us wrong directions. By the time we got there there were few seats left and we had to sit quite back. Which, contrary to in Singapore, is quite bad because seats have hardly any difference in height level so you're looking at the person-in-front's head.
But the movie was nice, except extremely gory.
And so was 墨攻, actually. I had no intention of watching that movie because you don't come to China to watch movies. But dad got so bored of shopping and we were so tired that oh-well. The cinema in 成都 was more normal (:
The publicity for The Curse of the Golden Flower in 成都 is really so large. In the city centre, everywhere you go can see Jay Chou's face.
I climbed two mountains. Mountains?
华山 with my dad, but we
And then 峨眉山. But we spent a ridiculously long time travelling there (5hours) that we only had 1.5 hours there. And I climbed it alone because my parents wanted to have lunch >.<
I lost my way (: I found it in the end but with my very small guts I got scared by the time I reached the main flight of stairs in the midst of trees because I was alone (everyone else took the cable car) and it was so spookily quiet.
峨眉山 is really pretty though. It's all snow and trees with snow and snow. And it's really misty so it's kind of dream-like.
And we SHOPPED AND ATE >.<
I heart my 冰糖葫芦 very much (: And the various sorts of biscuits and pizza-like-thingies they have are so tasty. And popcorn!
ohmytian you should see what kind of balloon I've blown up into.
And shopping in China is quite fun. The city centres are really vibrant and there're people shouting all over the place.
Quite cool (:
We went there with three luggages and came back with five.
Go figure (:
I miss China ):
We won't go back for a very long time because dad's historical tour has finished and now he wants to go to Tibet.
OH ASK ME WHY >.<
I'm horribly holiday-sick. Now I'm back in Singapore the reality of my unfinished holiday homework and my unfit-ness will come back to haunt me.
Strange, it's 3 plus and I'm feeling horribly hyper.
But no motivation to do Integration ):
